Order/Payment

At your convenience, you may purchase an eSIM the day prior of your travel date or upon arrival to your destination. Please note that your data plan begins at the time of installation.

To install eSIM, your device must be connected to a cellular data network or Wi-Fi. We recommend you to install eSIM by using public Wi-Fi like at the airport.

You can use your credit or debit card to make the payment without making a Paypal account. And all transactions are in USD.

Activation

We will send you a confirmation email with a QR code after you complete your payment. Scan the QR code on your phone and add the eSIM plan.

The data plan is ready for use once your purchase transaction payment is successfully processed and will begin upon the time of installation

The most recommended installing method is scanning the eSIM QR code. But if you are experiencing issues scanning the QR code, you should enter details manually.

For iPhones :

[Settings][Cellular][Add Cellular Plan][Enter Details Manually] – Enter [SM-DP+ Address] and [Activation Code] provided in your eSIM QR Code email received after purchase.

For Google pixel: 

[Settings] [Mobile Network][carrier] [add carrier] – enter the activation code provided in your eSIM QR Code email received after purchase.

You cannot scan the same QR code on multiple handsets. In addition, one QR code cannot be scanned multiple times, and the scan will not work if the number of scans exceeds the limits.

eSIM compatible devices allow you to install multiple eSIMs. In this way, you can have 1 physical SIM card and several eSIM plans.

And the maximum amount of eSIMs you can have on your device varies depending on device and manufacturer.

Please note that you can only activate one eSIM at a time. To switch eSIM, go to your device’s [Settings].

No, you cannot use the eSIM with a locked phone.

Using and Removing the eSIM

eSIM Australia provides data-only plans. Therefore making local or international calls are forbidden.If needed, you are able to have access to make a call via WhatsApp or Skype through the use of your data plan.

Yes, but it varies depending on your device.
The Dual SIM Dual Standby(DSDS) technology in compatible device models lets you remain connected with your physical SIM and your eSIM simultaneously.  

Please note that using your home country’s number will incur additional fees charged by your domestic carrier.
(Google Pixel 3 series is not compatible with DSDS technology.)

Yes. Please make sure that Data Roaming is on. Please go to [Settings] – [Cellular] and turn [Data Roaming] On.

Go to [Settings][Mobile Data]. Your device will specify whether it is using data from the Primary SIM or the eSIM.
If you installed multiple eSIMs, your device will also specify which eSIM is being used by displaying its label which you chose for your eSIM at the point of installation.

You will not be able to view your data usage on our website. We will add this feature later.

Or, if you are using an iPhone, you may go to [Settings][Cellular][usage] and check how much cellular data you’re using.

For Google Pixel, go to [Settings][Network & Internet] [Data usage] and check how much cellular data you’re using.

We recommend not to remove the eSIM while in use and after use.
If you want to remove the eSIM, go to [Settings][Cellular] – Tap on the eSIM you would like to remove from the list – Tap [ Remove Cellular Plan].
Depending on the device, the name of the button can be something similar.

You can also temporarily disable the eSIM. Go to [Settings] – Find an option to “Turn on/off this Line.
If you disable the eSIM instead of removing it, you can re-enable and reuse it at a later time.

Connection Problem

In some cases, the APN may not set up automatically by scanning the QR code. There is another option on your device that will allow you to enter details manually.

For iPhones :

[Settings] [Cellular] – Select [Secondary] from the cellular plans list – [Cellular Data Network] – Change the APN to the name provided in the additional information of eSIM Australia product page.

For Google Pixel:

[Settings][Network & Internet] –  [Mobile network] [Access Point Names (or Advanced, then APN)] – Choose the APN info for your carrier if it’s listed. If not available, tap [ADD] or [+]. Enter new APN settings provided in the additional information of eSIM Australia product page.

If you need more detailed information, visit the Apple Support site or the Google Support site.

If that is the case, please try the following methods :
1. Restart your cell phone and check if it is connected with eSIM or not.
2. In times when your phone is country locked, contact your device manufacturer to unlock your phone.
3. Contact your carrier and check whether you are subscribing to any mobile protection services or not.

To prevent unintended data usage, label your physical SIM card [Primary] and select [Secondary] for eSIM at the time of installation. Also, to block data usage of a physical SIM card in advance, turn the [Cellular Data Switching] Off.
Also, you can check with your carrier and subscribe to any ‘Blocked charged international roaming’ services.
